For Brooke
Here we go...
For all of us "vintage" girls. Just a "little vintage" though.
Really Brooke it just means we are like a fine wine.... better with age ;)
Should I get my shovel?

Should I get my shovel?
Someone has to clean these baseboards before I can paint.
I know it looks like I beat him then made him clean the baseboards in this last photo, but really... He volunteered! Believe it or not...
He thought the pink gloves were the best part! :)
Brooke... :) I'm taking it to the Antique mall, but most of the stuff in the antique mall is "vintage" not quite antique (Antique is truly defined by something more than 100 years old). Heck I'm vintage, I was born in the early seventies! I think I only have maybe 2 or 3 true antiques at the mall... :) So don't worry we are just vintage.
Kat-in-Texas, I have been using a white that I had, and it was Ralph Lauren Tuxedo shirt white. But I'm out now, and I think I'm going to go with Parker Paint. It is a Northwest company and the paint is formulated to work in our climate best. I think it may be a division of Rodda (sp?) paint, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
I was happy with the RL paint, but I think I paid more for the name than for exceptional paint.
Look at what a little searching can get you.... :)
Okay so the "Tuppercraft" made by Tupperware hamper is maybe a little funky for me, but I kind of like it in a weird way. It's going to the antique mall. It was made in 1958. Hey and look... it matches that gold chair... LOVE...
Have you ever seen a better chair...? Hmmm. I think not.
It even has little wheels on the front legs! Ack!
Here is my problem... I want to keep everything I find. This may be so good I might have to keep it. I just don't know yet. I even like the color and would maybe even keep the wood as is! Shocking I know. I may have to sit on it (ha ha) a while and decide later.
Then for the favorite piece of the week......
Ta da...
I saw it at Salvation Army and the price was $199.99. Too much over my budget. But then.... I saw a sign, no not from God, but from the front of the store.... All tags before Aug 25th are 75% off. I ran back to the hutch and what do you know AUG 24th!!! WAHOO! $50 bones for this bad boy.
I love it so much and I really am keeping it. It is made of walnut and has no structural issues at all, it just needs a good sanding and new white paint with a little antiquing to go in my new white downstairs (that I have pictured in my head).
I better get crackin'!
Happy Monday!
YAY BEAVERS! Beavers beat the #1 ranked USC tonight! Wish I was there! Go BEAVS!
Thanks everyone for your nice comments on my booth! It was really fun to set up.
Nope, I didn't sell that typewriter yet, but I'll try it in my booth space at the antique mall.
Here are some of my nice neighbors booths at the show...
Cute boots.
Love the red tablecloth here.
This photo is above my cabinets in my kitchen. I was admiring that little 50's clock and my mom bought it for me without me knowing and put it up there sometime before she left... I just noticed it last night.
Thanks mom.
I'm going to paint my kitchen and dining room and have accents of that blue color and seafoamy green, with a 50's kind of feel to it. (but not too much 50's I don't want it too look like a diner)
Now I better find time to paint! But if I paint my kitchen and dining room, I'll have to paint the living room too because they all kind of run together... It will be quite a project. It might be a while... :)
My mom and I got back home here, late last night... So we are a little exhausted...
But I'll post a few shots of my booth at the show and maybe some more of the other vendors cool stuff tomorrow.
We've still got to return the u-haul then take some stuff down to the Antique mall today. Good thing my mom is here to help me still.
The photos aren't great because we didn't use a back drop, so sometimes things get lost among the other cool things, but you can get an idea of how it looked anyway.
We took Betty along for the ride too. She held up well... :)
I had about 5 pr 6 wind chimes and I hooked them up to this cool rusted plant stand that I got at The Barn House . They looked pretty good, but it is hard to see them here.
Another shot from the front.
Don't you just love that Underwood no.5 typewriter?
Bath Bomb Cupcakes were a hot item.
It was a fun and tiring weekend... I'll post other photos in a day or two...
Chocolate Chip Mint Bathbomb Cupcakes....
Seriously you have to keep yourself from eating them. They smell soooo good!
Should have them up on the site early next week and Fresh Freesia Soap and Yuzu Soap will be back in stock early next week as well.
I'll be back next week with photos from the show....
We didn't get too many great photos, but we had lots of fun...
We borrowed a bounce house from a friend... Thank goodness for that! The kids loved it.
Here is Ben opening some of his huge haul...
It was a great day with lots of friends and the sun was shining, so it was perfect.
We went to the Puyallup Fair today and it was 85 degrees! Crazy.... But crazy good.
I might be missing this week because I've got to crack down on getting ready to leave on Friday morning for Kenniwick. Instead of working today the kids and Jason got off of school and work and we spent the day goofing off at the fair. So anyway... no more goofing off for me until the weekend!!
Later gators!
This is what we see every time we leave the house.
Lily use to go in the kennel when we left, but she is such a good dog that we just started leaving her in the house. She has never had an accident even when we are gone all day.
The only problem? She now gets on the couch all the time to look out the window for us. I usually come home to a "nest" made of pillows on the couch with a tell tale sign.... dog hair. Good thing we got the animal hair dyson way back when we bought it...
Oh and don't mind the dirty window... We are getting new windows in a couple weeks, so why bother cleaning them? :) We get new windows from the manufacturer because the seals are coming off them... So we are upgrading to Low-E windows to block the sun more... Yipee!
