Life in our house......

Wowza!

Thanks everyone for making my first anniversary sale a big success!!  Bigger than my opening week a year ago and even bigger than my Christmas rush last year!  I really appreciate all the orders and the repeat customers make my day!  You like me... you really like me...  Or RPB , but either is good with me. :)

I'll still be filling orders this week, so please be patient with me and I promise to get everything to you asap. 
This whole month is gonna be crazy preparing for my upcoming fall shows and getting orders out, but it's a good crazy!

Besides guess who is going to have days to themselves starting on Wednesday!!  ME ME ME!!  Sam is starting full day Kindergarten and Ben is going into second grade.  I can hardly believe it.  I'm very excited, but at the same time I know I'm going to have BIG issues come Wednesday morning.  It's going to be one hard day and I already know I won't be able to focus on anything because I'll want to know how Sam is doing.  It will probably be that way for the first couple of days if it is the same as when Ben started school full time.  I was a wreck!

But Sam is so incredibly excited.  He is sooooo social and can't wait to meet new friends.  Ben was so shy, it's so funny how they are so different.   Ben is ready for school I think too.  He says he's not, but he really does love school, he just doesn't love the idea of getting there, but once he is there he has a blast.

Well, I better get to work...  Thanks again everyone and I anticipate being able to blog better with the kids at school too... :)

Well, looks like I'm not going to get any more photos of the Antique booth posted before my trip...  Too much going on around here.

Boys and stuff

I need to look at the photo today of Ben holding Sams hand and them being so sweet to each other, because if I don't my head might explode.

Can you tell I'm ready for school to start?

I love them to pieces but them being together 24/7 is almost more than I can handle for 2 1/2 months!

We are heading to my parents house this weekend for the last little trip before summer ends, so that should get them out of their rut for a few days...

They are looking forward to seeing Grandma, Grandpa and their cousins..  And also looking forward to swimming at Great Grandpa's pool...

It's a good thing because it will be 100 degrees there probably...  :)

Also... I went down to the Antique Mall yesterday and I was so excited to see that I've already sold my wind chime!  It had only been there about a week, so I think I'm going to make more! 

Sold some other things and I keep bringing more things down there....  I'll have to show you an update in a few days.  Karen wanted me to take some more up close photos, so I'll try and do that before we leave on our little trip.

The Awake -ahs

Here is a recent conversation between Sam and I.  I was tucking him in, reading a book and doing the normal nighttime routine.

Sam:  Mom, I don't like sleeping by myself because of the awake-ahs.

Me: What do you mean?

Sam:  You know.... THE AWAKE-AHS!  I have like 4 of them every night!

Me:  You mean that you wake up during the night?

Sam:  Yes!  I don't like them.  They last a LONG time!!!

Me:  Yup, I know what you mean, I get them too...  Usually I get them because I need to get up and go to the bathroom and then it's sometimes hard to fall back asleep.

Sam:  Ya...  Can I play with my toys when I have them?

Me: Um.... No.

Sam:  But....  I just don't like it.

Me:  Sorry buddy, we all have them.  It's just the way...

Sam: I KNOW, I KNOW it's just the way God made us.

Out for the weekend

Just finishing up some work around here and then we've got a busy weekend ahead....  But I wanted to pop in and let you guys know I'm working on my 1st Anniversary Rose Petal Betty sale and I've got it scheduled to start on my official anniversary which is August 23rd!

I'm also hoping to have these available in the next few days....

Bath Bomb Cupcakes!!

It took me longer than I thought to have them on the website, but I've been selling them a craft shows/fairs and parties and they are a huge hit!

I do have to say that they are one of my favorite products probably after the soap and pucker paste...  So I guess that would be my 3rd favorite... :)

But they are unique and a fun gift or addition to a gift...

I'll have Passionfruit Rose and Satsuma Guava available on the site in a few days...

Swimmers

Bad photos, but you get the idea.   He is a total crack up I tell ya.

And if you all knew what a HUGE thing this is for him!!  Sam still doesn't really like this, but he does try after much coaxing.  He has made so much progress this summer it's amazing.  But if given a choice he prefers to have his life jacket on and..... a noodle....

On the other hand....

Meet Mr. Fishboy...

He LOVES to swim and is even now learning the proper form and breathing and at his last lesson the swim teacher even gave him a chance to learn the breast stroke and the butterfly!!  He already swims naturally with a kind of breast stroke...  He couldn't even swim AT ALL a month and 1/2 ago!

I'm very proud of my two little fish!

Antique Mall

It's not finished yet, but I think I've got a good jump on it!! :)

I got the idea of "papering" the wall from Tracey at A Cottage Industry.  She papered hers with old book pages and copies of old photos...  I liked that but thought to give it my own twist I would do sheet music.  The mall owner said there were a lot of compliments on it, so that made me feel good.

I only have 1/2 walls on the side and they have carpet on them... So I just pinned up some old lace curtains over the carpet.

I need some larger taller pieces like an armoire and some things on the wall, but it is coming together.  I also have a couple sets of china to bring in among some other things... It has taken me all week to get it this far, so hopefully I'll be done in another week or so...
